KOMPAN the world’s largest playground company is expanding operations to Pflugerville, TX.

KOMPAN is dedicating itself to bringing even more innovative, safe, and engaging playgrounds and fitness equipment to the Americas in the years to come.

Tacoma, WA – After years of continual growth and a desire to expand activities in the Americas, KOMPAN has decided to establish its Operations Headquarters in Pflugerville, TX.

“Texas has consistently been ranked as one of the top states in the nation for doing business for the past several years, so this was a relatively easy decision when you look at growth and the economic prospects in this area,” said Jose Antonio Moreno Toscano, KOMPAN CEO of the Americas. Within Texas, there are very few areas that have the potential and attractiveness that Pflugerville offers from both a geographical and economic development perspective.”

To best serve parks and schools in communities across North America the new Operations Headquarters will allow KOMPAN to start its production facility in the US and include positions in executive management, architecture and design, sales and marketing and logistics.

In addition to the benefits of new jobs and tax revenue for the city, Pflugerville’s 24 existing parks will receive a dramatic upgrade through an investment of up to $125,000 annually in new, state-of-the-art KOMPAN playground equipment. The average age of Pflugerville’s city park playground equipment is more than 11 years. Pfluger Park is the city’s largest park—and also has the highest usage—and its playground equipment is 19 years old.

In order to maintain high quality service standards, KOMPAN will operate from both its west coast office in Tacoma, WA and the new Pflugerville location. “We are expanding our playground equipment line with new offerings like Organic ROBINIA made from Robinia wood and MOMENTS School Age which offers challenging activities like high adventure zip-lines. We have also just introduced our patent-pending outdoor fitness system which combines fitness equipment with an integrated training app and an onsite trainer program,” Jose Antonio Moreno Toscano states. “The Pflugerville location will help bring new efficiencies in KOMPAN services, products and distribution.” KOMPAN expects the office to be operational from the summer of 2016.

Putting nature in the game. The idea behind KOMPAN Robinia represents a new way of designing the playground.

It’s no secret that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have a passion for children and for giving back to communities in need of help. In 2008, Brad Pitt’s “Make It Right” foundation went to New Orleans to help rebuild the communities hit hardest by Hurricane Katrina, and they’ve been making a big impact on the Lower Ninth Ward ever since.

Brad’s foundation also got some help for the launch of their project from Kompan with a donation of $300,000 in playground equipment. “This park represents both the future of outdoor play with ICON interactive gaming and the future of the community of the Lower Ninth Ward,” said Tom Grover, President of KOMPAN, Inc. “Play builds community, kids and much more. Everyone at KOMPAN is proud to be a part of this important rebuilding project.”

Pax and Maddox got ready to spin on Kompan’s Spinner Bowls, which are simply a blast and a load of fun for all ages! Originally designed for the purpose of experimental sand play, children love to climb inside for a spin of their own. A thrilling ride that also provides the physical benefits of vestibular stimulation and excellent balance training, the Spinner Bowl can be enjoyed by all.

As Angelina holds an umbrella, her son plays on Kompan’s ICON “Rocky”. The Rocky can be a wild or mild ride, but players need to be ready for both. The Rocky’s three unique games will require everything from raw strength and power to fine-tuned balance. The Rocky reads the angle and direction of the platform, so players influence the games with every movement of their bodies. Alone or in teams, the more force that’s applied, the more control you get back from the Rocky.

On the ICON “Space” Teams compete to beat the clock in four dynamic games that test players’ agility, memory, and speed. The LED flashing Game Nodes are located at strategic positions around the structure, with the Game Controller setting the stage. Hit the lighted Nodes as fast as you can, using teamwork to your advantage. Each game adds new dynamics to every challenge.
